Will it surprise you if I told you that I love pirates?
Well, since I love every ocean thing, it shouldn’t have surprise you, should it? I love pirates and their hidden treasures, secret maps, ships, flags, swords and canons. And I also adore their rebellious unruly superstitious attitude and cunning mind. Hmmm…am I just revealing another side of me?
Anyway, I love pirates and I am very pleased to find that my boys love them too. Well, Mika to be precised, and whatever liked by his brother, Pascal would love it too. So, last weekend, we happened to bumped in the the sequal of Pirates of the Caribbean and Mika has been watching the trilogy every since. He brought out his old pirate lego and long before I realised, I have cannon ball shot everywhere in the room.
I watched the trilogy in cinema years a go. But when I watched it again in a row, I noticed things that I missed and I appreciate it more. I marvel at Jack Sparrow’s dishonesty. And I marvel their old english. And the love of Davy Jones to Calipso one more time.
Now, let me close my eyes, and dream that I am on the deck of a pirate ship for a while. Before I start my Monday morning. Yo ho! Yo ho! Have a good Monday everybody…

I had the DVD for more than a week before I had the time to watch it. And when I started watching it on Sunday, I could not stop!
Without wanting to spoil it too much, it’s about a man (Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows) who was about to face a death sentence for a crime he did not do. His younger brother (Wentworh Miller as Michael Scofield), who is not only incredibly handsome but also has mental problem of being a genius and has the knight in the shining armour tendency, orchestrated a way to release his brother which includes tattoing him self with the escape plan and rob a bank to get him self locked in the same jail with his brother. Yummy!
I used to devide movie into Guy’s movie and Girl’s movie. But this is one of the rare series that will be chosen without doubt by both sexes.
The reason why I love this series so much:
1. Michael Scofield is an engineer
2. More mystery and background unraveled bits by bits
3. The drama is just right.
However, I also noticed that there were also too much coincidence as the team join in. Sucre’s girlfriend suddenly wanted to marry somebody else. Westmoreland’s daughter suddenly in critical illness. Abruzzi’s suddenly sees Jesus on the wall. It’s a bit too many, don’t you think?

I have been rummaging through hubby’s DVD collection during my 4 weeks breaks and so far I have managed to finish below movies in what-I-like-most order:
1. Saw 2
2. Lord of War
3. Donnie Darko
4. Cars (this is part of Mika’s collection)
5. Ice Age 2 (bro’s collection)
6. Narnia - the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (also bro’s collection)
7. Brainy Babies series (Pascal’s collection)
8. Teletubbies (Pascal’s collection)
I put Saw 2 as the best because the story was really mind boggling. I found it very rare that a sequel can be as good (if it’s not better) than the first one.
Lord of War, well…to be honest I was really not interested to watch this movie simply because I think that this is a guy movie. I mean, I am not a big fans of Nicholas Cage. But I do like Ethan Hawke though. So in one of my boring day, I decided to watch it and it captured my attention to the last. I almost forget lunch and when I did have it, it was 3 pm already!
Donnie Darko, which I just finished 15 minutes a go, still confuse me. Was everything a dream just like Mulholland Drive or was Donnie really time travel? I will try to search more about it later.
Cars is great. Period.
Ice Age 2 could keep Pascal quiet, so this is also recommended. So does Brainy Baby and Teletubbies.
And now if you excused me, I will go off line. I have hubby breathing down my neck to see how long have I been on line. In my home, PC is for working. Not for fun. ![]()
