pascal on trialPascal went to his second trial in his (soon to be) pre school today. We are going to send him to Mika’s old pre school where I felt comfortable with the school system and knew the teachers well enough to trust them with my second boy. It’s a small and homey school that emphasized its curriculum in outdoor activity and when Mika was there, he was very happy. There was no day where he did not want to go to school. The activity was fun and he loved the teachers. That is all a parent need from a school, don’t you think so?

I took one day leave to accompany my little boy going for trial so I have plenty of time. Mom ‘borrowed’ Pascal in the morning, so around 09:45 am hubby and I picked him up. Pascal looked very excited and looked incredibly cute with his red shirt, blue jeans, red socks and cute little nike shoes. He carried a small red spiderman backpack. My heart swelled so large seeing him running so confidently. Lets see how thing get on school. Will he still be that confident? I hope so… :)

Well, at first Pascal cling on me. He started to relax and play puzzle 15 minutes later. Another kid tried to take a piece of puzzle away from him and he hang on to it fiercely. Looking dagger at the other kid whose size actually twice than he was. A teacher saved the other kid from Pascal’s anger. My little boy can be quite an inferno when something upset him regardless the fact that he is quite a small boy. We called him cabe rawit or small chilly. Small, but when he bites, he really bites. He could directly come at you and punch you in the nose! Or try to spit on puke on you. I am not quite sure where did he get such attitude for I am quite a patient woman (ehm!), must be from my hubby’s family side. :)

When the class started singing, Pascal started to wandering around. He started trying to bang the door, climb it, rip the poster away from the wall (here’s a picture of me holding him right after he tried to rip the poster), turn on the water faucet, climb the book shelves and tried to go to the backyard. He sat very still during lunch time, ate away his choco crunch slowly but surely. He looked at the teachers coldly and did not budge with their friendliness. Oh well…I guess my boy will grow to be a no nonsense guy who speak less but act more. Anyway…

Another thing that I like to mention from this school is their airy and non AC class rooms. The ceiling is high and the backyard was lustrously green with trees and plants. Mika used to went home with red ears (that’s how he is without AC) and dirty pants. I remember my Mom always complained how Mika’s pants were always muddy. Later on I found out that he was taught to roll down from a small hills. And now Pascal, I could see his cheeks grew red. And I started to see sweat beads coming out of his pores. Both of my boys are AC boys. But Pascal did not complain, not even once. He sat still and observing his surroundings quietly. He seemed to enjoy it though. Altogether made us decide that he is ready for school. So we paid his school fee.

After that, we dropped him in my Mom’s house. This coming Saturday will be Pascal’s 2nd birthday and Thank God, I will be here!! Yippieeee!!! I have missed his first birthday for I was in London at that time and boy I am so glad that I am not going to miss his second birthday. I know I know I know, I am a birthday kind of girl who put too many emphasizes on being there during someone’s birthday. Birthday is a big thing for me.

So Hubby and I went to Dapur Cokelat to order some cakes. I was a bit confuse to choose the theme. Three of them, Thomas & friends, Barney or Cars, they all looked very cute! We finally decided on Thomas. We want to save Cars for Mika’s birthday on July.

Afterwards, we went looking for present. I was thinking to buy Pascal a tent as the little guy seemed to love wondering around putting his nose to places they don’t belong. Hubby think to buy him a little tykes house which I also agreed. We had difficulties to choose which one do we want to buy though. It’s the classic battle of Wants vs. Needs. So after a while, we decided to postpone the present until we could go to Mangga Dua on Friday. Mangga Dua basically is a big shopping mall in china town where you could literally find everything. We wanted to go right away but I decided against it. The air was so humid I barely could keep up with the temperature. All I want is either to cool my self off, hibernates in an Air Con room or go for swimming. We decided to the latter one.

So, hubby took me to Villa Delima. It started to rain and hubby offered me to go to Salon instead. I was tempted but decided against it. I had spent enough money in Salon, I think I could be considered one of the share holder. So this time I want to tone my self up so off we went to Villa Delima. Due to his job demand, hubby dropped me off and drove home. By the time he left, the rain started to pour down gently from the sky. I love it. I let it drip on my face for a while before I hit the water.

As predicted, the pool was empty. There was nobody at sight. Beside, who would want to swim in a rain other than a crazy woman who long to buried her self under water. So off I went. Swimming back and forth under the rain.

The swim was nice and the rain made it even nicer. I dived and watched the rain dripped to the water surface from below. It was amazing. I could hear thunder and see few lightnings, I love it. When I came out of the water, I could feel the rain dropped on my head made me feel like having a scalp massage. Can a day be better than this?

pascal on trialThe rain lasted for about 30 minutes. Afterward, it was all quiet. I let my self float facing the grey sky. My mind wandering away as I could feel the water engulfed my body gently and sooth my knotted muscles. It was really relaxing. It was so quiet the only sound I heard was my own breath and when I stopped breathing, I could hear my own heartbeat reverberating against my ribs. I love every minute of it. I hope I could be like this forever. Away from the world. Away from my problem. Just me and water.

And when I grew tired floating, I went to the shore and put my chin above the water surface to enjoy the small valley right below the pool. I could hear the crickets and I saw few butterflies going from flower to flower. I could see the pine trees with its peak trying to reach the gray sky. I still could hear thunder claps in a distance. Not long after that I heard children laughter. The rain has stopped and the children started coming. Time for me to stop too.

So I wrapped my self and took a shower. Without me realizing it, it’s already 4 in the afternoon. There goes my leave day. Tomorrow I will be back to my busy day in the office and back to my problem- err, I mean challenge or opportunity for a better solution (that’s politically more correct!). And oh, I just received news about something. I will talk to you later about it. It’s time for me to put on my pink pajamas, commemorating a beautiful day I had.
