I had the DVD for more than a week before I had the time to watch it. And when I started watching it on Sunday, I could not stop!
Without wanting to spoil it too much, it’s about a man (Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows) who was about to face a death sentence for a crime he did not do. His younger brother (Wentworh Miller as Michael Scofield), who is not only incredibly handsome but also has mental problem of being a genius and has the knight in the shining armour tendency, orchestrated a way to release his brother which includes tattoing him self with the escape plan and rob a bank to get him self locked in the same jail with his brother. Yummy!
I used to devide movie into Guy’s movie and Girl’s movie. But this is one of the rare series that will be chosen without doubt by both sexes.
The reason why I love this series so much:
1. Michael Scofield is an engineer
2. More mystery and background unraveled bits by bits
3. The drama is just right.
However, I also noticed that there were also too much coincidence as the team join in. Sucre’s girlfriend suddenly wanted to marry somebody else. Westmoreland’s daughter suddenly in critical illness. Abruzzi’s suddenly sees Jesus on the wall. It’s a bit too many, don’t you think?

I guess I catched this bug on last week workshop from my Thai colleague. Great. And now here I am, sitting with heavy head, bleary eyes, runny nose, sore throat and escalating fever. Great. Move on. Let me see my agenda for this week and next week, see if I can take same days off. I still need to clean up 4 days outstanding leave from my calendar otherwise I will loose it. Ouch!
Ok, tonight I should have another dinner with the Operations guys. Passed.
Wednesday afternoon 29 Nov, I will need to go to Bogor for 2 days meeting with the rest of the oil companies HR and BP Migas and return on Friday evening.
Friday evening 1 Dec, I should have dinner with the Project guys. Passed.
Saturday morning 2 Dec, Mika will have Speed Kick competition at the British International School. Oh I can’t miss this!!
Sunday 3 Dec, I was planning to take the kids swimming. Passed, no let me put: depends on the fever.
Monday 4 Dec looks ok, but I will need to catch up for the lost working days I had on Thursday & Friday the week before + finishing some work before going to Bali.
Tuesday 5 Dec looks ok, but I would expect to catch up some work before I leave to Bali in the afternoon. Salary review season has started to kicks in again.
Wednesday 6 Dec - Friday 8 Dec, I will be in Bali and dear hubby will be in Jogja. Again, My Mom will be the dedicated Day Care for Mika & Pascal.
Friday evening 8 Dec, I would hope that I could catch the plan to return to Jakarta because…
Saturday 9 Dec, Mika will have his Tae Kwon Do test (yay!) Hopefully he will be a full yellow band by the week after!
Sunday 10 Dec, swimming again?
OK, so theoritically I’d be able to take some day off in the week of 11 - 15 Dec but that’s the payroll week! Grrr….
What about about week 18 - 22 Dec? Rrr…I am scheduled to go to Surabaya, really. We just got cry for help e-mail few days a go and it was not fair to leave them swimming without any devices. So, probably I will be there by this week. Note: don’t forget to put bullet vest and bring some ammunition.
Sooo…I guess this will leave the week of 26 - 29 Dec for me to take some days off. But my colleague will be on leave by then. Hmmm…
Let me decide first and I will get back to you. I promise.

The only thing I hate for holiday is when you return from work, the pile of work you must finish seemed to multiply hundred times than before. I decided to take baby step to get it done, first task would be to clean up my inbox. I had 2500 e-mail messages that I need to filed under the server. The sent item looks better, only 1500 items. Piece of cake! It took me more than 2 days for me to get this done whilst the new e-mails had started swarming in again.
Other than that, Lucy & Ronald were in Jakarta! Yay! They are on their orientation trip returning to home country after spending 2 years in London. So on Tuesday night, we had dinner in Warung Kopi with them together with Djatu & Mas Dedi, Djohan & wife, Henny and Lona. Unfortunately Chandra could not join us. I laughed so much I think I nearly dislocate my jaw. It’s amazing that I knew some of them only several months a go and only for few weeks and yet I have felt very comfortable among them.
The remaining days of the week felt like episodes of Twilight Zone to me. We had a workshop in this hotel about HR Functional Excellence and for the first two days I really had no clue what the consultant was talking about. That’s the thing I hate most in consultant. They could be painfully theoritical and completely ignorant about the real life. The way they approach the subject remained me of my high school days where the Teachers drone on about algorithms, linear etc and I had headache trying to comprehend how that would be implemented in the real life. Fortunately our Regional Manager seemed to do a good job in giving them feedback on how their material can be translated into earth language as the third (and last day) was so much better.
Other than that, it’s always fun to meet your colleagues from other countries. We took hundreds of pictures, had nice dinner and (of course) endless gossip. I will try to post some later on.
